The mission of Ike Charlton IV Foundation is to be a leader in sports and educational programs by providing resources and opportunities for our most vulnerable youth. Our goal is to equip inspiring young student- athletes with access to quality training programs, educational seminars, and mentorship to support their journey. We are committed to making sure that regardless of the obstacles they face, they will not be left behind and given every opportunity to score a touchdown, cross the finish line, run faster, or jump higher while succeeding educationally.
Youth Sports program are a powerful tool for translating leadership skills to youth. Studies have showed that youth sports programs actively work to assure positive outcomes through developmentally appropriate designed programs and supportive child-adult (parent/coach) relationships (National Research Council and Institute of Medicine, 2002).
As the world is rapidly evolving in the 21st century skills, sports programs build on youth development assets such as five C’s of positive development; Competence; Confidence; Character; Connections and Compassion/Caring: Lerner et al (2000). The foundation seeks to develop student- athletes as a means of supporting the development of the whole child.
Ike Charlton IV Foundation will make available in 2020, quality training programs, educational seminars, and mentorship programs to most vulnerable young student-athletes. The foundation will launch the sports academy first, while testing how we will implement the seminars and mentorship program in schools, or afterschool programs in collaboration with community centers or other nonprofits or event at our own facility.
